Cuba expressed its solidarity with India on the occasion of the victims caused by the recent natural phenomena that have hit different regions of the country. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez, transmitted an official message to H.E. Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, President of the Republic of India, in which he expresses “the most sincere condolences, on behalf of the Cuban people and government, due to the regrettable loss of human life and material damage caused by the heavy rains and land displacements that are occurring in various states of India ”.
In addition, he extended his condolences to the families and relatives of the victims. The states of Kerala and Uttarakhand have been affected by heavy rainfall causing floods and landslides, all of which have claimed hundreds of human lives and caused extensive material damage. The message of condolence from the Cuban President was transmitted through the Cuban Embassy to the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. In this way, Cuba expresses, once again, its solidarity and support for India, with whose Government and people it maintains a historical relationship of friendship and cooperation, reflected, in particular, in difficult and sad times like these.
