Deputy Minister of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia receives Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba.

Cuban Chargé d'Affaires, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Mr. Deweh E. Gray, who received her at her office.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the ties of brotherhood between Cuba and African nations, and expressed the willingness of the Cuban government to diversify areas of cooperation on the basis of mutual agreement. She thanked the government of Liberia for its support to the Resolution against the US blockade. She also explained current Cuban issues while advocating for the strengthening of bilateral Cuba-Liberia relations.

For her part, the Liberian Vice-Minister praised the resistance of the Cuban people to the economic sanctions they still suffer, and the achievements made by Cuba in various sectors, particularly in health and education. She thanked the island for its support to Liberia during the Ebola epidemic.

The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere and confirmed the good state of Cuba-Liberia relations and the willingness to increase bilateral exchange for the benefit of both nations.
