INDER delegation conducts working visit to Quebec

A delegation from Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), headed by its First Vice President, Raúl Fornés Valenciano, arrived at Montreal's Pierre E. Trudeau International Airport in the early hours of this Sunday, September 7, 2025, to fulfill a working visit that begins in Quebec and will extend to several Canadian cities.

On their first day of work, they held a meeting at the Quebec Ministry of Education with Richard Gamache, Deputy Director of Sport, Recreation, Physical Activity, and Outdoor Activities, and other officials from the sports sector. The meeting confirmed the similarities in the functioning of the institutions of both countries and the importance of sport in the well-being of the population.

Subsequently, at the headquarters of the Quebec Ministry of International Relations, the First Vice Minister and the accompanying delegation held a meeting with Mathieu Parenteau, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. They exchanged views on the potential for existing bilateral collaboration in sports matters.

As a culmination of this first day of work, at Laval University, the visitors held a meeting with Julie Dionne, Director of the Sports Activities Service, in which they discussed possible exchange projects in various sports disciplines.

The Cuban delegation is also comprised of Yadira González Ruiz, General Director of Cubadeportes; Enrique Valdés Cárdenas, Commercial Director of Cubadeportes; and Judith Langaney Marrero, Specialist in International Relations of INDER.
