The Honorable and Excellency Ms. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, President Pro Tempore of the Senate of Liberia, received the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, at her headquarters.
The Cuban diplomat congratulated Liberia on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council and elaborated on the unjust harm caused by the illegal U.S. blockade against the Cuban people.
Senator Karnga-Lawrence thanked the Ambassador for her explanation and reiterated, on behalf of the Liberian people and government, their support for Cuba against the blockade, which, she added, also limits the potential for exchange between our companies and businesspeople.
The Cuban diplomat reiterated the Cuban government's commitment to strengthening ties between our nations, particularly through various forms of cooperation with developing countries.
