Monrovia, March 18, 2020 - The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Monrovia received the visit of the excellent friend of the Cubans and president of the Liberia-Cuba solidarity group, Mr. Kesselee Kanneh, a Liberian who graduated in the major of the Antilles in the specialty of Physical Culture.
Among the topics discussed in this exchange were the proposal of activities on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), an update on recent measures applied by the United States to reinforce the blockade against the island, and the performance of Cuban medical collaboration in different countries to prevent and face the threat of the new coronavirus COVID-19.
The Head of the Diplomatic Mission in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, pointed out that Cuban doctors contributed to curb the pandemic in the Asian giant, where the initial outbreak of COVID-19 occurred, while a similar brigade is in Venezuela and another will arrive in Nicaragua.
In his exchange with the Cuban diplomat, the representative of the Liberian solidarity group let her know the willingness of the members of the association to collaborate with the members of the Embassy in whatever is necessary at this time when solidarity is the word of order.
