Esteemed President Ilham Aliyev,
Distinguished Heads of State and Government,
Delegates and guests,
With heartfelt emotion, I thank you for the warm welcome given by the people and government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to which we are bound by 27 years of continuous relations. We have taken a long though indispensable trip to get here.
The Cuban Ambassador to the United States, José R. Cabañas, visited Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah, on October 22-23, 2019 following an invitation extended by the President of the Brigham Young University, Mr. Kevin J. Worthen, to attend an Ambassadorial Program hosted by this academic institution. The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Edlia González, and by Third Secretary Yanet Pumariega.
The Cuban delegation to the 57th Directing Council of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), led by Minister of Health José Ángel Portal will not be able to attend this event due to visa restrictions imposed by the government of the United States.
