Festival Artes de Cuba launched in Washington D.C. 

The Festival “Artes de Cuba: From the Island to the World” opened its doors on May 8 at the Eisenhower Theater of the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, with an opening gala that evidenced the richness, diversity and artistic talent that identifies Cuba as a nation. 

Ambassador of Cuba pays a working visit to Florida

The Ambassador of Cuba in Washington D.C., José Ramón Cabañas, paid a working visit to Florida on April 9- 10. 
 
The high-ranking official had the opportunity to meet with businesspersons from several companies with contracts in Cuba, in particular, with those from the transportation sector, which in 2017, transported more than one million passengers to the Island from the United States. 
 

Cuban and U.S. companies reached an agreement on Heperbrot-P

The Cuban company Heber Biotec and the U.S. company Mercurio Biotec join efforts to bring Heberprot-P therapy to patients who suffer from diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) in the United States, upon approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

According to the press note released by the entrepreneurial group BioCubaFarma, the Cuban therapy is expected to lower in more than half the current figure of risk of diabetic foot ulcer-related amputations in the United States, due to the successful history of the product and the commitment given by Mercurio and Heber.

Cuba and the United States advance in the bilateral cooperation against discharges of hydrocarbons and other harmful or potentially hazardous substances

Delegations from Cuba and the United States met to establish a Plan for Bilateral Coordination as part of the implementation of an Agreement signed by both countries in the field of cooperation on the preparedness and response to the pollution caused by discharges of hydrocarbons and other harmful or potentially  hazardous substances in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Straits.
