Cuban Foreign Minister receives the US Republican Senator Jeff Flake
In the afternoon of January 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, met with Jeff Flake, the Republican Senator for the State of Arizona.
In the afternoon of January 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, met with Jeff Flake, the Republican Senator for the State of Arizona.
On December 12, 2017 a new technical exchange was held in Washington D.C. between Cuban and US authorities on the combat against human smuggling and migration fraud, with the objective of increasing the bilateral cooperation in that area.
This meeting takes place as part of the law enforcement dialogue, which both parties maintain to coordinate the combat against transnational crimes affecting the two countries. The meeting was held in an ambiance of respect and professionalism.
A new round of migration talks was held between Cuban and US delegations, presided over respectively by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Director-General of the US Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and John Creamer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs.
The Cuban delegation expressed deep concern over the negative impact that the unilateral, unfounded and politically motivated decisions adopted by the US Government in September and October of 2017 have on migration relations between both countries.
