Statement to the press by General Director for US Affairs, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro

Today, we have learned about a media note by the Department of State, informing of the decision of the US Government to draw down their Embassy staff in Havana.
As we informed on the past Tuesday, September 26, in a meeting held that day, at the proposal of the Cuban side, with Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla:
 
- Advised him not to take any hasty decisions, which are not based on evidences and conclusive investigation results;

On Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at the proposal of the Cuban side, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, was received by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at the State Department.

The meeting took place in a respectful ambiance.

Directors of the Cuban civil aviation take part in a regional event in the United States

The President of the Civil Aviation Institute of Cuba (IACC in its Spanish initials), Mr. Armando Daniel López, lead the Cuban delegation to the Seventh Meeting of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Directors of Civil Aviation held on September 19-21 in Washington D.C. Other members of the Cuban delegation to this meeting included Mr. Orlando Nevot González, Air Navigation Director at the IACC and Ms. Mercedes Vázquez González, Director of Air Transportation and International Relations at the IACC. 
 

Sixth Cuba-US Bilateral Commission meeting held in Washington DC

The Cuba-US Bilateral Commission held its 6th meeting in Washington D.C., USA, on September 19th, 2017. Ms. Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, General Director of the US Affairs Division of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs led the Cuban delegation, and Mr. John Creamer, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs in the US Department of State, headed the US delegation.
 

Cuban and U.S. authorities hold third round of law application and enforcement dialogue in Washington.

On September 15th, 2017 the third meeting between authorities of law application and enforcement bodies of Cuba and the U.S. was held in the United States Capital.
 
This was a follow-up meeting of that held on May 17th, 2016 in Havana. The purpose of these exchanges is to coordinate bilateral cooperation on law application and enforcement and advance in tackling different scourges that might pose a threat to both countries such as: terrorism, the illicit trafficking in drugs and persons, cybercrime, among others.
