Entrepreneur from Cuba achieves high quality wines

A Cuban scientist informed today that he managed to produce high quality wines in a short period of time, as a prospect for the industry of this product linked to tourism.

Just four months were enough for Freddy Rojas Thómas, a scientist at the Finlay Institute of Vaccines, to produce high quality wines and qualify to participate and compete in the V National Festival of Cuban Winemakers, to be held in the central province of Cienfuegos, in February 2024.

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, and President Miguel Díaz-Canel, are present today at the last day of debates of the Second Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament).

The presence of Raúl Castro and Díaz-Canel has been permanent in these three days of sessions where core issues for the life of the country have been addressed and which continue today with the presentation of three bills, among them the Public Health bill.

Cuba's tariff exemption on food and other products is extended.

The tariff exemption on imports of foodstuffs, toiletries and medicines by natural persons will continue in Cuba beyond December 31, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero announced today.

In a speech at the Second Ordinary Session of the 10th Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament), he recalled that this measure, which has been extended on several occasions in recent years, was due to expire at the end of the current year.

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, and President Miguel Díaz-Canel are attending the Second Session of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), in its 10th Legislature, which began today in this capital.

On this day, the deputies will analyze the objectives and goals of the economy for 2024, how the process of implementation of the Family Code, Law 114 of the penal process and a group of agreements and decrees laws of the Council of State, to be ratified.

Debates continue in the standing committees of the Cuban Parliament.

Deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament) will continue today the debate in Permanent Working Commissions (CPT), prior to the beginning tomorrow of the second session of the legislative body.

According to Tuesday's agenda, accessed by Prensa Latina, the head of the Food Industry, Manuel Sobrino, will explain the effectiveness of measures to counteract crime, corruption and illegalities in that sector.
