In late September, The Nation’s publisher, Katrina vanden Heuvel, and its editor, D.D. Guttenplan, met with Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel for an exclusive interview in New York.
On this Sunday morning, leaders and members of the José Martí Cultural Association and the Alianza Martiana gathered in the Plaza de las Banderas at the Miami International Airport to join, once again, the voices within the United States crying out finally of the blockade against Cuba.
They also called for the US government to end a policy that severely harms the Cuban people and prevents normal ties between Cuban families.
Until May of this year, the General Customs of the Republic (AGR) had seized 14 kilograms of drugs with a predominance of cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy and synthetic cannabinoids.
Above all, from the air border—considered one of the significant areas in this type of confrontation—from January to October, 33 cases have been detected, a figure that represents more than double what was registered in all of 2022.
Ten new ambassadors presented their credentials to the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in the Hall of the Próceres, of the Palace of the Revolution. According to the Presidency website, an idea was shared by Díaz-Canel Bermúdez in each of the meetings with the ambassadors: Friendly nations will continue to support Cuba in its fight against the blockade, and against the unjust inclusion of the Island in the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
