U.S. academics express interest in collaborating with Cuba.

Academics from the United States, participants in the XIV International Congress on Higher Education, expressed today their interest in closer collaboration with Cuban universities.

In a meeting held at the Palco Hotel in the capital, the professors praised the potential of the conclave for the establishment of alliances, while they expressed their interest in the consequences of the blockade imposed by the United States on the island in various fields.

The First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez today highlighted the understanding of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), on the objective and impact of the U.S. blockade against Cuba.

"Few people in the world understand the objective and impact of the genocidal blockade against Cuba, as Andrés Manuel López Obrador, whose management in favor of all the peoples of Our America is only comparable to his impressive work of transformation of Mexico," the president wrote through his account on the social network X.

The links between higher education and social transformation are the focus of interest of academics gathered today at the XIV International Congress on Higher Education, taking place in Havana, Cuba.

Precisely on this topic, a forum will take place this Tuesday at the Convention Palace, venue of the conclave, in charge of the executive director of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, Karina Batthyány, the member of the steering committee of CLACSO, María Isabel Domínguez, authorities of the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education and organizers of the congress.

Cuba continues to strengthen ties with Cubans living abroad.

During a meeting held at the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C., Cubans living in the United States shared concerns and proposals to further strengthen ties with their nation.

The exchange was an extension of the recent dialogues that took place in Havana during the conference "The Nation and Emigration". 

Those present called for the unity of the Cuban community living in the United States to fight for the development of the Caribbean nation, the elimination of the blockade and its removal from the terrorist list, taking into account the damage this represents for families.
