Fuel price update postponed in Cuba.

The updating of fuel prices in Cuba and their commercialization in foreign currency in a selected network of servicenters, scheduled to begin this February 1, is postponed, due to a cybersecurity incident in the computer systems for commercialization, informed Cuba's deputy minister of Economy and Planning, Mildrey Granadillo.

"We ratify that the government's projections to correct distortions and boost the economy of 2024, will only be implemented if the conditions for this are created," she said in her intervention in Noticiero del Mediodía.

Cuba executes phase III clinical trial of drug for ataxia type two.

A phase III clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the nasal administration of NeuroEPO in adult patients with spinocerebellar ataxias is successfully developed in Cuba.

Cuba is the country in the world with the highest prevalence of Ataxia type sca2, at a rate of 36.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, although its frequency in the province of Holguin is 183 cases per 100,000 individuals, Granma newspaper reported.

Internationally, the incidence of this type of ataxia is three to five cases per 100,000 people.

Celebration of Martí's 171st birthday at the Cuban embassy in the US.

With children as the main protagonists, the Cuban Embassy in the United States today paid tribute to José Martí, on the 171st anniversary of his birth.

Gathered at the diplomatic representation's headquarters in the capital, the children listened to the Apostle's poem "I grow a white rose", one of the National Hero's most famous poems, which recreates the value of friendship and the importance of cultivating sincere love with others.
