Cuba re-elected to the UN Special Committee on Decolonization.

Cuba was re-elected today as vice-chairman of the Bureau of the UN Special Committee on Decolonization, which confirms the renewed confidence placed in it, according to the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver.

In his speech during the meeting for the formation of that body, the also permanent representative of the Caribbean nation to the United Nations ratified his country's commitment to that responsibility.

U.S.-Cuba cultural bridge, ballroom dancing competition announced.

The Cuban province of Matanzas will host from April 17 to 22 the international ballroom dancing championship, a bridge of connection and cultural exchange between the United States and Cuba, organizers said today.

We are very excited to continue this project, Cuban choreographer and former dancer Ana Llorente told Prensa Latina, speaking also on behalf of Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine, ballroom dancing champion in the United States, and Michael Chapman, Broadway choreographer and producer.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stressed today that the Revolution is the island's greatest work of love, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Love and Friendship.

Condemnation of the U.S. blockade signals a meeting of solidarity with Cuba in Panama.

The condemnation of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba will be one of the central themes of the 24th Meeting of the National Coordinator of Solidarity with the island in Panama, it was reported today.

As explained to Prensa Latina by Dr. Manuel Pardo, head of the chapter of the western province of Chiriqui, on February 16 and 17 representatives from all over the country will meet at the Franciscan Seminary in the city of Boquete to express their support to this noble cause against Washington's hostile policy.

U.S. blockade, the greatest obstacle to Cuba's development.

The U.S. blockade against Cuba is the greatest obstacle for the development of the island and a systematic violation of the human rights of the people, said Prime Minister Manuel Marrero today.

Speaking at the World Summit of Governments, which is taking place in Dubai, Marrero assured that in spite of all the challenges posed by the economic, commercial and financial siege, the Caribbean nation will continue to carry out the necessary transformations to the economy and society.
