Brussels tribunal to unveil blockade of Cuba, say experts

The French association Cuba Linda today considered the international tribunal against the U.S. blockade of the island, to be held this week in Brussels, a tool to denounce and bring to public opinion the criminality of that policy.

The organization, created in 1998 to promote ties between France and Cuba, confirmed to Prensa Latina its participation in the tribunal to be held at the European Parliament on Thursday and Friday, and showed its expectations for a space to denounce the illegality of the economic, commercial and financial siege imposed more than 60 years ago.

Cuba is preparing the celebration of the IV Conference The Nation and Emigration, to be held on November 18 and 19 in Havana with the participation of some 440 nationals living abroad.

According to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the conclave will take place on November 16 and 17 in Brussels, capital of Belgium.

This Tribunal has the support of these representatives of legal organizations from Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece, Belgium and the United States, said the president of ICAP, Fernando Gonzalez Llort, at a press conference held on Thursday.

Cuba denounces in Unesco the US blockade and its impact.

Cuba denounced today at Unesco, through the voice of its Minister of Education, Naima Ariatne Trujillo, the blockade imposed by the United States and considered it a fundamental impediment to its development.

We are grateful for Unesco's support to counteract the impact of this unjust policy. Its contribution has come hand in hand with timely and responsible cooperation in all the areas of competence of the organization, she said when speaking at the General Policy Debate of the 42nd General Conference.
