Cuban State Mission to Jamaica participates in blood donation day

Kingston, 16 June 2023. Around thirty members of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica carried out this week a massive blood donation throughout the Jamaican territory, in the framework of World Blood Donor Day, which is commemorated on June 14.

In the Jamaican capital, the donations given to the Alexander Bustamante Paediatric Hospital will contribute to surgical operations at the institution's Cardio-centre.

In front of the bust of the Bronze Titan in the Jamaican Heroes Park, members of the Cuban state mission in Jamaica, members of the Association of Cuban Residents (ACR) and the Cuban Solidarity Movement, representatives of youth organisations and social movements, graduates of the Garvey-Maceo High School, paid tribute to two sons of the Revolution: Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.

The International Relations Commission denounces and firmly rejects, as fraudulent, the certification of Cuba as a country that "does not fully cooperate" with the anti-terrorist efforts of the United States, issued last May 23rd by the Department of State. This is an action which, together with remaining on the unilateral and spurious List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, has the sole purpose of trying to justify the inhuman measures of economic warfare suffered by the Cuban people, universally rejected in the United Nations General Assembly, and to isolate Cuba.
