Announcement of the Cuba-Jamaica Bilateral Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2023.

Kingston, 12 September, 2022. The process of awarding scholarships to Jamaican students for the 2023 school year began with the publication on the website of the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service of Jamaica of the call for applications for the Bilateral Scholarship Programme.

The deadline for applications is 14 October.

Second part of the Jamaican government's donation departs for Cuba.

Kingston, 8 September 2022. The  Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, the Honourable Kamina Johnson-Smith and the Ambassadorof Cuba to Jamaica Fermin Quiñones Sanchez, last night saw off the Coast Guard vessel HMJS Nanny of the Maroons, which was on its way to Santiago de Cuba with a second shipment of medicines and medical supplies as part of the Jamaican government's donation in response to the devastation caused by the fire at the Matanzas supertanker base, both valued at J$20 million.

Kingston, 29 August 2022. The Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, together with officials of the diplomatic mission and officials of the Ministry of Education and Youth of Jamaica, received this morning 12 new members of the Cuban Educational Brigade in Jamaica who arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, to join the new school year in September.
