The farewell activity of the Vincentian students, beneficiaries of medical scholarships, granted by the Cuban State, was the framework of a warm and heartfelt tribute of remembrance to the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, on the day of the 93rd anniversary of his birth.
With a political-cultural patriotic evening, the Cuban Embassy and the Cuban Medical Brigade in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines commemorated the 66th anniversary of the heroic deed of July 26, 1953.
After an introductory presentation by the Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Nelson Vicente Díaz Lobo, the attendees had the opportunity to listen to the speech of the Cuban Public Health Minister, Dr. José Angel Portal Miranda, during the 72nd World Health Assembly.
A working visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines allowed the meet of Antonio Guerrero, one of five Cuban heroes who suffered unjust imprisonment in U.S. prisons, with the prominent lawyer, former Minister and former Attorney General, Parnell Campbell, who chaired the Committee for the Liberation of the Five in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The renowned Vincentian Lawyer expressed his joy at having seen one of his dreams come true and expressed his confidence that life will allow him to meet the rest of his companions.
