With the presence of a representative of the Training Division of the Service Commission Department of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and of a large group of parents and relatives, the Embassy of Cuba in this Caribbean country, celebrated the official farewell of 12 students Vincentians, benefited with scholarships granted by the Cuban Government, to study General Medicine, Stomatology, as well as to specialize in pediatrics, in the case of two graduates of the ELAM.
The inauguration of the modern Medical and Diagnostic Center of Georgetown became a massive act of solidarity and friendship with Cuba, in which hundreds of inhabitants of the second Vincentian city, joined Governor-General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves and his Government to celebrate the opening of the magnificent facility, built on the initiative of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, and with the project, technical advice, medical equipment and medical personnel, secured by Cuba.
