Statement by the Cuban delegation to the 67th session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).
Mr. Chairman:
Our delegation would like to congratulate you on your election as head of COPUOS and express our full support in the fulfillment of your mandate.
Cuba finds laudable the work carried out by the IAEA in the field of technical cooperation, which has an indisputable importance for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda of our countries. In this regard, we welcome the convening of the Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science, Technology and Applications and the Technical Cooperation Program to be held in November.
The US has removed Cuba from a list of countries it considers "not fully cooperating" with its "counterterrorism efforts". The US State Department has determined that the circumstances for Cuba's categorization as a "not fully cooperating country" have changed from 2022 to 2023.

Vienna, May 23. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, received the Cuban delegation participating in the International Conference on Nuclear Security (ICONS 2024).
During the exchange, Colonel Ariel Martos Rodríguez, Head of the Protection Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and of the Cuban delegation to the event, handed over to the IAEA Director a letter sent by the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Cuba, Major General Lázaro Álvarez Casas.
