In a report sent to the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, the European Union (EU) asserted that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba also affects its interests and, consequently, expressed its rejection of the extraterritorial nature of that policy, reported Prensa Latina.

The Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples of the World, which will be held these days in the City of Caracas, Venezuela, began.
Delegates from social organizations from Venezuela and different countries around the world have come to Caracas. With all the biosecurity measures to guarantee the health of the attendees, the Congress is also attended by intellectuals, artists and government delegates.

Updated addendum to the Secretary General´s Report on resolution 74/7 of the United Nations General Assembly entitled, “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba"

This addendum contains an update on the impacts caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America (USA) against Cuba, and basically covers the period from April to December 2020. During this time frame, the blockade continued to be the centerpiece of the US government´s policy in relation to Cuba, which was tightened in an opportunistic manner, within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of this year, this system of unilateral coercive measures has remained intact, with severe impacts on the national efforts to contain the pandemic and mitigate the economic and social effects stemming from it.
