Officials from the Cuban Foreign Ministry participate in an international conference in Oslo

Oslo, April 23, 2024.  Yadira Ledesma Hernández and Jorge San Román Valdés, officials from the General Division for Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in this city to take part in an international conference on strengthening the protection of civilians from the humanitarian consequences arising from the use of explosive weapons in populated areas.

Cuban Ambassador reviews cooperation with Norway in marine aquaculture

Oslo, April 23, 2024. The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, held a meeting with Per Andreas Windingstad Larsen, director, and Sigurd Kihl, official, of the Section for Oceans, Department for Climate and Environment, at the Norwegian Agency of Cooperation for Development (NORAD).

It was a new and valuable opportunity to exchange on the positive progress of the cooperation project “Production of marine fish fry in Cuba”, ongoing between the Cuban Fisheries Research Center and the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.

Norway will be present in the XVII First of May International Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba

Oslo, April 22, 2024. During the event organized by Norway-Cuba Friendship Association for commemorating its 60th anniversary, the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, took the opportunity to bid farewell to Paulius Eidukas, who was about to leave for Cuba to join the XVII First of May International Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba, which will take place between April 22 and May 4.

Paulius' enthusiasm and joy were evident. Despite this being his third visit to our country, he was full of interests and expectations.

Cuba and the United States hold migration talks in Washington DC

Washington, April 16, 2024 - On April 16, 2024, representatives of Cuba and the United States held bilateral migration talks in Washington DC. 

Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío Domínguez headed the Cuban delegation and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the State Department's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs Eric Jacobstein led the U.S. delegation.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the implementation of the bilateral Migration Agreements, whose texts set forth the mutual commitment to guarantee regular, safe and orderly migration.
