Government authorities continue the efforts and work aimed at achieving the greatest possible clarification on the news released since February 17, 2024, referring to the alleged death of our compatriots Dr. Assel Herrera Correa and Dr. Landy Rodríguez Hernández.
Oslo, March 12, 2024. Last weekend, the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association held its Annual Meeting, which was a suitable occasion to review the work carried out in 2023 and define the Action Plan for the current year.
The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Mrs. Maité Rivero Torres, who was invited to deliver the closing remarks, reiterated the gratitude of the Cuban people to the Association for its permanent solidarity and support in the struggle for the lifting of the US genocidal blockade and the exclusion of Cuba from the spurious list of State sponsors of terrorism.
Oslo, March 12, 2024. Nursing students from the Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) have joined the University of Medical Sciences in the Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila to receive a three-month training course.
“As part of our internationalization strategy, it is with great pleasure that we welcome Norwegian students who come to do internships in the area of Nursing,” the Cuban University published on its Facebook profile.
Oslo, March 11, 2024. On the occasion of International Women's Day, which was celebrated on March 8, the Cuban Embassy in Norway organized an activity to pay tribute to a group of Norwegian, Latin American and Cuban female friends, as well as to the women who make up its staff.
Mr. Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, Second Secretary, in his central words, recalled the origin and meaning of the commemoration, and conveyed sincere congratulations to the women from all over the world, particularly those present.

During the reception offered by the Presidium of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in honor of the diplomatic corps on March 7th, the ambassador of Cuba to the Kingdom of Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, had the chance to present her greetings to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the Norwegian Foreign Minister for the opportunity to exchange briefly, and expressed her willingness to continue working for the development of existing relations between both countries. (Embacuba Norway)
