Cuban Ambassador participates in reception at the Norwegian Parliament

Oslo, March 8, 2024. The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, attended the reception offered annually by the Presidium of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in honor of the diplomatic corps accredited in Norway.

The words of greeting and welcome were given by Nils T. Bjørke, second vicepresident of the Storting. Ine Marie Søreide Eriksen, chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also made their remarks.

Professors from the University of Havana incorporated into the University of South-Eastern Norway

Oslo, March 8, 2024.  Within the framework of the cooperation project "Ecological Connections: Cultural Studies in Cuba and Norway" (Ecocon), two professors from the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana ‒Gretel Gutiérrez Fuentes and Marilé Ruiz Prado‒ joined the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Bø some weeks ago.

This stay on the university campus is part of the exchange of postgraduate students that takes place between both academic institutions.

Ambassador of Cuba pays a courtesy call to the new secretary general of Norwegian Popular Aid

Oslo, March 6, 2024. The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, paid a courtesy call on Raymond Johansen, who recently took office as Secretary General of Norwegian Peoples´Aid (NPA), after having served for several years as Governing Mayor of Oslo.

The Cuban diplomat wished Mr. Johansen every success in his new duties. Likewise, she highly appreciated APN's long-standing relationship with Cuba, thanks to which several cooperation projects are currently underway involving different Cuban institutions and entities operating on various sectors.

Cuban citizenship granted to a daughter of a Cuban living in Norway

Oslo, February 27, 2024. With great satisfaction, Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, second secretary in charge of Consular Affairs, delivered the document granting the Cuban citizenship to Isabel Sagdalen Pérez, a young girl who was born in Norway.

Norwegian students from the University of Stavanger make a training stay in the University of Havana

Oslo, February 27, 2024. Since the beginning of January, a group of five students from the Department of Social Studies of the University of Stavanger joined the Department of Sociology of the University of Havana for a six-month training stay.

As part of the academic activities, in recent days the Norwegian students held a meeting with Cuban students of Sociology in which they discussed about the work of social workers in Norway.
