University sectors in Türkiye continue to expand solidarity actions with Cuba by joining the signature campaign promoted by the José Martí Küba Dostluk Derneği (José Martí Cuba Friendship Association).
A solidarity meeting with Cuba was held at the headquarters of the Sosyalist Devrim Partisi (SOLDEP) under the slogan “Cuba is not alone!”, with the participation of Oscar Redondo Ramos, Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Türkiye.
The José Martí Cuba–Türkiye Friendship Association called on the deputies of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to take a clear and active stance in solidarity with the Cuban people, in light of the recent intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and the Cuba–Türkiye Friendship Association “José Martí” held a protest in front of the Embassy of the United States in Ankara, chanting: “We stand with the Cuban people!”
The U.S. blockade against Cuba was never merely a series of sanctions. It was a comprehensive plan of U.S. aggression aimed at subjugating, through deception and force, a people unwilling to abandon socialism. The United States not only prohibited American companies from trading with Cuba — an independent and sovereign country with the right to trade with other nations — but also threatened the entire world with massive sanctions, effectively preventing almost any economic, financial, or commercial relationship with Cuba.
