The Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, paid a working visit to the Republic of Türkiye, from September 16 to 19, 2022, with the aim of deepening the historic ties existing between both nations and peoples, reviewing the progress made in the marketing and promotion of Cuba as a destination and examining the existing potentials for its development.
At the headquarters of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Türkiye, polling station no. 1 of the 63rd circumscription of the Cuban Missions abroad was set up to vote for the Family Code project. Likewise, polling stations 2 and 3 corresponding to the same circumscription in the city of Antalya were also constituted.
H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos García Granda, Minister of Tourism of Cuba, held a meeting with Ms. Nalan Yeşilyurt, Member of the Executive Committee of TURSAB, where they discussed the potential for increasing the flow of tourists to Cuba and business opportunities in the sector. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Nergis Büyükkinaci, Head of the Corporate Affairs Group.
The hero of the Republic of Cuba and president of ICAP Fernándo González received the president of the Cuba-Turkey José Martí Friendship Association Nahide Özkan.
Mr. Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, received H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos García Granda, Minister of Tourism of Cuba. During the meeting they discussed the potentialities for the development of bilateral relations in the tourism sector, in particular the consolidation and expansion of the Turkish airline's presence in Cuba. The Cuban Minister of Tourism was accompanied by H.E. Dr. Alejandro Diaz Palacios, Cuban Ambassador to Türkiye.
