On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the physical disappearance of Vilma Espín Guillois, the Cuba-Turkey Friendship Association "José Martí" held a tribute colloquium at the Nazim Hikmet Cultural Centre in the city of Istanbul.
Cuban Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Alejandro F. Díaz Palacios, read out the Order No. 94 of the President of ICAP, the hero of the Republic of Cuba Fernando González Llort, which awards the commemorative stamp of the "60th Anniversary of ICAP" to the "José Martí" Association of Turkey.

The Cuban artist Hakely Nakao, resident in Turkey, participated in an artistic gala organised in homage to the great Turkish poet Nazım Hikmet at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall of the Ataşehir Municipality in Istanbul, to commemorate the 59th anniversary of his death.
