HE United States has launched a stunning attack on Cuba’s medical-aid missions, with the Trump administration pressing countries to reject them during the coronavirus pandemic.
Cuba has played a leading role in the global fight against the outbreak, sending medical teams and aid to some of the worst-affected countries, including Italy.
Jeremy Corbyn described the internationalism of Cuban doctors who’ve travelled to Italy to help fight the new coronavirus (Covid-19) “as inspirational”. He did so during his final speech as leader of the Labour Party on 25 March.
Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented a Diplomatic note of protest to the United States Government in response to recent particularly offensive statements by the Department of State resulting in a continued and exacerbated campaign of discredit and lies against the international medical cooperation provided by Cuba.
