The Cuban community living in Cairo and the members of the Cuban state mission met to celebrate the International Workers' Day this May 1st with a picnic at Al Horreya Park, where there are several busts dedicated to Latin American heroes like Hugo Chávez and José Martí.
The Ambassador of Cuba in Egypt, Tania Aguiar Fernández, signed the book of condolences open at the embassy of Sri Lanka in Cairo on the occasion of more than 300 deaths caused by the explosions in churches of that country during the celebrations of Holy Week.

At the meeting, the historic relations between the two countries, that this year celebrate the 70th anniversary, were reviewed and as well as topics of Cuban and regional news were addressed.
The Ambassador of Cuba in Egypt, Tania Aguiar Fernández, gave a lecture at Badr University of Cairo, in the context of the 4th Latino Festival organized by that educational center. The lecture had the blockade of the United States against Cuba as its central axis, which aroused great interest among the attendants.
Also, she took the opportunity to explore the possibilities of cooperation between that university and its Cuban counterparts, and there were also an exchange on Cuban culture and economy.
