Cuba and Namibia strengthen judicial ties

“Namibia and Cuba share a deep connection that goes beyond mere diplomacy,” said Namibian Chief Justice Peter Sam Shivute as he welcomed his Cuban counterpart, Dr. Ruben Remigio Ferro, to the African nation.

Speaking during the official visit of the President of the Supreme People’s Tribunal of Cuba (TSP) to the Supreme Court of Namibia in Windhoek, Judge Shivute said the collaboration between the two nations is rooted in solidarity and the sacrifices made by the Cuban people during Namibia’s long and difficult struggle for independence.

Historical and permanent support of the Namibian government to the Cuban people

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, Mr. Peya Mushelenga, received from Sergio Vigoa de la Uz, Cuban ambassador here, a letter from his counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, regarding the sessions of the United Nations General Assembly that in the coming days he will once again discuss the Resolution "Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba."

Secretary General of SWAPO thanks Cuba's historic solidarity

The Secretary General of SWAPO, Sophia Shaningwa received the Island's ambassador to Namibia, Sergio Vigoa de la Uz, and thanked our country and the Communist Party of Cuba for their commitment to the development of Namibia.

The SWAPO leader recounted the friendship between both parties since the years of the fight for independence and the solid cooperation that has been forged in the fight to achieve more just societies in both towns.
