Namibia Cuba Friendship Associationwish to congratulate the Cuban people for staging the largest heroic march on December 20 to demand that the U.S. government end the inhuman and cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade and the infamous inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
The President of Namibia, Nangolo Mbumba, paid tribute this Wednesday to the National Hero of Cuba José Martí, before the urn that houses his remains in the Santa Ifigenia heritage cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.
Later, the president placed a wreath, "in the name of the people of Namibia", before the monument that houses the ashes of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who founded close ties of friendship between the two nations and with Sam Nujoma, Historical Leader of the sub-Saharan nation.

The highest decoration granted by the Cuban State to fellow nationals and foreigners, the José Martí Order, was delivered yesterday by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to the president of the Republic of Namibia, Hon. Mr. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, who is on an official visit to the Island.
