Cuban president says COVID-19 figures improving significantly

Havana, June 21, 2020-- The statistics that are religiously reported every morning show a nation with remarkably low rates in the battle against COVID-19, although the battle for life continues.

The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, spoke of the hopeful numbers at the meeting he leads every day with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.  The four cases that were reported, he said, is the lowest number of positives in a day after we reached the peak of the epidemic.  At other times we had five, six, but four is the lowest.

Cuba detects 3 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours

Havana, June 22, 2020-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported that there were three new cases detected of COVID-19, for a total of 2,315 positive cases across the island.  

During his daily press briefing held Monday morning, Dr. Duran said that over the past 24 hours -- up to 12 midnight Sunday night -- fortunately, no patients died from the coronavirus.  A total of 85 patients have died in Cuba over the past several months.

Cuba detects 10 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours

Havana, June 19, 2020.-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported that there were 10 new cases detected of COVID-19, for a total of 2,305 positive cases across the island.  

During his daily press briefing held Friday morning, Dr. Duran said that over the past 24 hours -- up to 12 midnight Thursday night -- fortunately, no patients died from the coronavirus.  A total of 85 patients have died in Cuba over the past several months.
