Harare, June 12, 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, visited the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) today, following up on bilateral actions following the recent visit to the Caribbean island by the Minister of Health, the Honorable Dr. Douglas Mombeshora. The Head of the Diplomatic Mission spoke with the Acting Director of MCAZ, Dr. Zivanai Makoni, about the possibilities for cooperation with the Cuban Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment, and Medical Devices (CECMED).

Fruitful visit to Cuba by Executive Director of Zimbabwe's African Knowledge Institute

Havana, June 11, 2025 – The Director of Zimbabwe's African Knowledge Institute, Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, completed a fruitful visit to Cuba seeking to strengthen bilateral ties in the field of culture, particularly heritage management. Muzawazi met with Deputy Minister of Culture Lizette Martínez Luzardo and signed a memorandum of understanding with the President of the National Heritage Council, Sonia Virgen Pérez Mojena.

Cuban Ambassador Talks with Canadian and European Union homologs

Harare, June 10, 2025 – Cuban Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa spoke with her homologs from Canada and the European Union (EU) in Zimbabwe as part of a courtesy visit to the diplomatic corps accredited to the African nation. The Head of Mission of the Caribbean country was received by His Excellency Mr. Adler Aristilde, with whom she discussed bilateral relations, the status of business, and projects with Canada. Pérez Mesa and the EU Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Jobst von Kirchmann, discussed the current state of Cuba's ties and the challenges and prospects for the bloc.

Ambassadors promote Latin American and Caribbean presence in Zimbabwe

Harare, June 10, 2025 – Ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean in Zimbabwe highlighted their nations' historical ties and potential with Africa. The Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Her Excellencies Susellys Pérez Mesa (Cuba), Nadeska Cuthbert (Nicaragua), and Magaly Henríques (Venezuela), the Honorary Consul of Jamaica, Ms. Mucharonza Rosemary Muchengeti, and the Ambassador of Brazil, His Excellency Mr. Vilmar Rogeiro Coutinho, discussed the African roots in their respective countries and how this could lead to greater ties through joint projects, especially in the cultural sphere.

Cuba and Zimbabwe value Parliamentary Relations

Harare, June 7, 2002 – Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa valued relations between the legislatures of Cuba and Zimbabwe with the Chair of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Honorable Shamu Webster Kotiwani. The diplomat and the head of the Friendship Group with Cuba discussed follow-up to what was agreed upon during the recent March visit to this capital by the President of the Council of State and the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández.
