The United States takes steps in the right direction, but the blockade remains in force

On January 14, 2025, the government of the United States announced the following decisions:

 

1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;

2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and

Cuban ambassador meets with leaders of the solidarity movement in Iran

Tehran, January 9, 2024. Cuban Ambassador Jorge Lefebre Nicolás met on Wednesday, January 8, at the diplomatic headquarters with directors and activists from different sectors of the Iranian solidarity movements with Cuba. The ambassador updated those present on the socio-political and economic situation in Cuba and exchanged with them on the main activities to be carried out, as a whole, in this year 2025.

Ambassador of Cuba to Iran presents his Letters of Credence

Tehran, January 7, 2025: The Cuban diplomat, Jorge Fernando Lefebre Nicolás, presented this Tuesday to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mr. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the Letters of Credence that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in this friendly country.  

Solidarity movement with Cuba in Iran celebrates the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution

Tehran, January 3, 2025. The members of the Iran-Cuba Friendship Association (AAIC) met to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, this past Thursday, at the Café Cuba in the city of Karaj. The president of the AAIC, Hadi Khansari, organized together with the Embassy a political cultural event with the presence of poets, painters, businessmen and tour operators, all friends of the island.
