Cuba's friendship associations with Indochina countries mark 46th anniversary

The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) on July 15 held a ceremony to celebrate the 46th founding anniversary of Cuba's friendship associations with Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The event aims to review the history of the solidarity movements of the Cuban people for the revolutionary causes of the peoples in the three Indochina countries, contributing to educating the future generations of each country about the good traditional relationship and underlining their responsibility in preserving and promoting the solidarity and friendship.

Promotion: Cuba as a destination

A few days ago, the Cuban Embassy in Phnom Penh organised a gathering with the local travel association, presenting Cuba as a destination of choice for travellers from Cambodia.The event brought together Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia Liurka Rodriguez Barrios and key leaders and stakeholders of the Cambodian tourism industry led by Sivlin Chhay, President of Cambodia Association of Travel Agents (CATA). This was the second such event hosted by the Cuban Embassy since November 2021.

Cambodian parliamentarians show solidarity after Cuba hotel accident

Cambodia has expressed its solidarity with Cuba after the unfortunate accident at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, in which dozens of people lost their lives and suffered injured. Cambodian legislators went to the embassy of the island in this capital and expressed their sorrow for the unfortunate event to the delegation´s head Liurka Rodríguez. The president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba, Nin Saphon, assured that the Caribbean nation can always count on the friendship and solidarity of the Kingdom and the people of Cambodia, especially in such painful moments as the present one.

Signing the Book of Condolence at the Embassy of Cuba in Phnom Penh

On the afternoon 09 May 2022, His Excellency OUCH Borith, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Standing Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led the Ministry’s delegation to sign the book of condolence at the Embassy of Cuba in Phnom Penh for the demise of His Excellency Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada, former Foreign Minister, and former President of the National Assembly of Cuba.

Cambodia expresses support for Cuba against US blockade

Cambodian friends of Cuba planted royal palm seeds at the Cuban Embassy here on Tuesday as a symbol of bilateral friendship and rejection of the United States blockade against Cuba. The vice president of the Association of Cambodian Graduates in Cuba (AGCC), Rim Sovathara, said that the initiative is a way of renewing the commitment to accompany what they consider their second homeland, as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of diplomatic relations (April 15).
