Cuban premier touches down in Kingdom for three-day visit

Cuba’s Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz led a senior delegation from his country on an official visit to Cambodia, arriving in the Kingdom on October 4 with plans to depart on October 6. The visit came at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen following the prime minister’s recent stop in Cuba after attending the UN General Assembly in New York. Hun Sen welcomed his Cuban counterpart at the Peace Palace for a meeting.

Cuban Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Cambodia

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz will arrive in the capital today for an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, which will last until Oct. 6, completing the last stage of a tour of Southeast Asia that also included Vietnam and Laos. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during his stay in this city, the head of Government will be received in the audience by King Norodom Sihamoni.

PM Thanks Cuba for Helping Cambodia Over 40 Years Ago

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has told former Cuban President Raul Castro that the people of Cambodia have not forgotten what Cuba did to help Cambodia during the post-liberation period.

Speaking at a meeting with Raul Castro on September 24, PM Hun Sen stated that after the liberation from the genocidal regime of Pol Pot at that time. He reminded that in 1979, Cuba helped Cambodia a lot and still remember that at that time, Cambodia had Cuban sugar, a Cuban orphanage, and also a Cuban ferry. "Cuban aid at that time was very important for Cambodia, especially the Cambodian people who had just risen from the dead of the Khmer Rouge regime and needed to live and learn. So help from Cuba is very important." he said.

Cambodia and Cuba reaffirm positive diplomatic relations

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Saturday met and valued the signs of trust, understanding and respect between both nations. Both leaders talked about the positive bilateral relations and also reiterated the willingness to strengthen cooperation in sports, health, culture and biotechnology. 

Cambodia, Cuba to strengthen and expand bilateral ties and cooperation

Cambodia and Cuba have pledged to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in the areas of trade and economy as well as the solidarity between the two countries. The pledge was made in a bilateral meeting between Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Republic of Cuba in Havana, the Republic of Cuba, on September 24.
