Cuban president congratulates Cambodian King on Independence Day

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni on the occasion of today's 69th anniversary of the national Declaration of Independence, after nearly a century of French domination. Diaz-Canel delivered the message through the Cuban ambassador here, Liurka Rodriguez, conveying to His Majesty the warmest congratulations on behalf of the Cuban people and government, accompanied by best wishes for the prosperity and welfare of the Cambodian people. The Cuban head of state also reiterated "the will to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between our countries". For his part, the monarch Norodom Sihamoni thanked Díaz-Canel for his letter, which he described as warm, and praised the existing ties between the peoples of Cuba and Cambodia. 

Cuban government ratifies will to strengthen friendship with Cambodia

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero ratified Wednesday the willingness to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation with Cambodia, on the 69th anniversary of its Declaration of Independence.In his Twitter account, the head of government reiterated congratulations to the Southeast Asian nation that celebrates its liberation after almost a century of French colonialism. On this day, the Cuban prime minister sent a congratulatory message to his Cambodian counterpart, Hun Sen, in which he recalled the recent and historic exchange of visits.

Cuban ambassador highlights Cambodia's loyalty in the face of U.S. blockade

Cuba's ambassador to Cambodia, Liurka Rodriguez, highlighted the loyalty of this Indochinese nation that has always accompanied the island in its struggle against the intensified economic blockade of the United States. Cuba is grateful for the unconditional support at all levels of the Kingdom of Cambodia, which has always accompanied us not only by voting in favor of the Cuban resolution demanding the cessation of that policy but also in explaining its position and denouncing this injustice, she stressed.

Mr. Ke Sovann, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the United Nations, attended and delivered a statement in support of Cuba at the 26th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UNHQ, in New York. Ke Sovann, Cambodian Ambassador to UN. :"The blockade violates the fundamental rights of Cubans". "The Cuban people deserve to live in peace and stability. He also called on the U.S. to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Cambodian Information Minister Supports AKP-PL Cooperation

Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith has voiced his support and appreciation for the cooperation in information exchange between the Cambodian state-owned news agency – the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) –and the Prensa Latina News Agency (PL) of Cuba.  H.E. Khieu Kanharith welcomed the direct exchange of information between the two news agencies, stressing that it is faster and more effective in bringing true information to the Cambodian and Cuban people and the world
