Respect and admiration, distinctive hallmarks of Cuba-Cambodia ties

Respect, admiration and identification of common goals of progress, despite geographical distance, are hallmarks of relations between Cuba and Cambodia, Ambassador Liurka Rodriguez said here on Wednesday. At a meeting with members of the Association of Cambodian Graduates in Cuba (ACGC), diplomats, sports collaborators and Cuban residents in the Kingdom, Rodriguez stressed that these ties, established more than six decades ago, also have “a key historic component.”

Cambodian businesswomen will explore opportunities with Cuba

The ambassador of Cuba, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios participated in the first Exhibition of Business Women of Cambodia. The event was chaired by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Cham Nimul, who expressed that the distance that separates both countries does not prevent a rapprochement. The directive also recalled the active bilateral agenda between Havana and the kingdom in 2022 and the potential to expand cooperation in various areas.

Role of culture praised in Cuba-Cambodia ties

The role that culture plays in the links between Cambodia and Cuba was praised by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia, Pen Mony Makara. In a fraternal meeting with Cuban Ambassador Liurka Rodriguez, both agreed to identify this sector as a valuable pillar in bilateral relations and highlighted the existence of a collaboration program in this field.

Agricultural links between Cuba and Cambodia, a pillar

The Cuban ambassador in Cambodia, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, held a meeting with Borin Khieu, sub-secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Environment. His recommendations to advance sustainable agriculture were very valuable, taking into account the cooperation projects in this sector between Havana and the kingdom.

Cuban Deputy FM receives copy of credentials letter of new Cambodian Ambassador

H.E. Chea Thireak, new Ambassador to Cuba,  presented the copy of credential letter to H. E. Mrs Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba. During the meeting, the will of both governments to continue strengthening ties in different areas, including health, agriculture, sports, and human resources training, was ratified.
