Sanctions imposed by the United States (US) are a serious roadblock for Cuba doing business with other countries. This was one of the points made by Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia Liurka Rodriguez Barrios in an exclusive interview conducted at the Cuban Embassy in Phnom Penh.
Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo on Saturday expressed condolences to the people and Government of Cambodia, due to human and material losses as a result of heavy rains and floods. Heavy rains and floods have hit Cambodia for more than one and a half month, killing at least 40 people and causing serious material damage.
Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Cambodia, paid a courtesy call and discuss with Mr. Prum Sokha, Minister of Public Works at the Ministry. During the meeting, both the Minister of Public Works and the Cuban Ambassador expressed their appreciation for the good relations between the two countries.
The Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, held two meetings with the Ministers of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, Vong Soth; and Telecommunications and Post Office, Chea Vandeth.
Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, has sent a letter to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, expressing condolences for the loss of human lives and material damages caused by the floods.
