Cuba calls for political will for a fair and just future at United Nations General Assembly

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, called on Sunday before the UN General Assembly (UNGA) for greater political will to address the structural and moral failures of the international system that prevent progress towards a fair future.

Speaking at the Summit of the Future, Cuba's foreign minister reviewed the challenges facing developing nations and the need for truly profound reforms to eliminate them.

Nearly 600 parliamentarians from 73 countries call on the US to take Cuba off the “state-sponsor of terrorism” list

Nearly 600 parliamentarians from 73 countries across the globe have written a joint letter, coordinated and published by the Progressive International (PI), condemning Cuba’s designation by the United States as a “state-sponsor of terrorism” as “cynical, cruel, and a clear violation of international law”. In the letter, published today, Friday 20 September, the legislators call on their respective governments to “take immediate action to advocate for [the designation’s] removal.”

Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel congratulates the newly elected President of Sri Lanka

Colombo, September 23, 2024. Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel Bermúdez sent a congratulatory message to Sri Lankan President-elect Anura Kumara Dissanayake through his X account.
In his message, Diaz Canel congratulates him on his election as President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and confirms his willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Cuban Ambassador receives executives of ITV Media Network in Sri Lanka

Colombo, September 12, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, received Prasanna Kulatunge and Ravin Fernando, both directors of I TV Media Network, which includes the channels, ART TV, the pioneer terrestrial channel, and Gaja TV, the Premium Sports Channel, at the diplomatic mission in Colombo.
During the meeting, the achievements made by Cuba in the sports sphere and the interest of this television media company to promote them in Sri Lanka were highlighted.
