Condolences on the demise of Kofi Annan at UNESCAP, Bangkok

On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Thailand, we expressed our deepest condolences on the passing away on August 18, 2018 of the Nobel Peace Prize and former Secretary General of the United Nations Kofi Annan.

The prominent Ghanaian diplomat distinguished himself for his struggle for peace. He gave his life to the good causes of humanity, especially the defense of equality between peoples and nations. In the words of the Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, Kofi Annan was an outstanding son of Africa and an active promoter of multilateralism.

XXXVI EDITION OF THE HAVANA INTERNATIONAL FAIR (FIHAV 2018) ON COMMERCE

Today with Dr. Somsak Leeswadtrakul, Chairman of Ggroup of Thailand, promoting the XXXVI edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2018) on Commerce in the framework of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cuba.

The Havana International Fair (FIHAV) is the largest annual multi-sector trade fair in Cuba and a highly-representative gathering in Latin America and the Caribbean.

FIHAV 2018 will be taking place from October 29th to November 2nd, 2018, in the ExpoCuba fairground located on the outskirts of Havana.

#Cuba denounced this week the strengthening of the blockade imposed by the United States for almost six decades, by publishing the Foreign Ministry''s annual report on the effects of the siege on society and the impact of its extraterritorial component.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island released on Friday the text of United Nations General Assembly resolution 72/4, entitled 'Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba'.

Cuba promotes "Baseball 5" in Thailand

Eros Bernal Morales, Methodist of the National Baseball Directorate and Head of the National Program of "Baseball 5" in Cuba and Briandy Molina Elías, Instructor and Sportsman of the Cuban University of Physical Culture and Sport Sciences "Manuel Fajardo" arrived today in Thailand.

In the photo, with one of the representatives of the Softball Association of Thailand - counterpart of the program in the Kingdom.

"Baseball 5" is a modality of that sport with 5 players and 5 innings. The ball is rubber. There are no pitcher, no bat or gloves.
