Prime Ministers of Cuba and Vietnam held telephone talks

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held phone talks with his Cuban counterpart Manuel Marrero Cruz on July 1 to discuss measures to continue enhancing the special traditional friendship and comprehensive and trustworthy cooperation between the two Parties, governments and people.

Vietnam votes for UN resolution calling for ending US embargo against Cuba

Vietnam on June 23 voted in favour of a United Nations (UN) resolution calling for an end to the decades-long economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the US against Cuba, and urged the US to reverse the current Cuba policies for the interest of both peoples and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world over.

The resolution was adopted by the UN General Assembly at a meeting the same day with 184 votes in favour, 2 against, and 3  abstentions.

President of Vietnamese Fatherland Front reaffirms solidarity with Cuba against blockade

The Party, the State, the Government and the people of Vietnam condemn the blockade against Cuba and stand in solidarity with the Cuban people in the face of the difficulties that this policy generates, assured in Hanoi the president of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Doan Van Chien.

In a world tending to cooperation, unilateral measures such as the blockade are unjust and cause difficulties for the peoples, said the Vietnamese leader upon receiving the island's new ambassador, Orlando Hernández Guillén.
