The Auckland Cuba Friendship Society applauds the recent UN vote against the U.S. blockade of Cuba where, for the first time, the U.S. and Israel abstained. The final vote against lifting the crippling 56-year blockade – the longest in world history – was 191 to 0, with two abstentions.
With the slogan: “Challenges and trends of the sustainable commerce ”, the 1st Convention on Commerce, Cuba-2017, will be held from May 15th to 19th, 2017, at the Havana International Conference Center. This will be the perfect setting for researchers, executives, specialist, and technical staff to exchange and debate on the role of commerce and services for the national economic progress accordingly, with the new management models.
The world witnessed today an exceptional event, when the UN Resolution condemning the embargo was approved with the support of the international community and no opposition. US Permanent Representative at the UN, Samantha Power, announced they were going to abstain and so they did.
