The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 and China, through their Joint Coordinating Committee, demanded the immediate exclusion of Cuba from the unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
Cuba strongly rejects the implementation of unilateral coercive measures, in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law. Such measures are particularly detrimental in the current conditions of an international economy in crisis increasingly interconnected, interdependent and under the dictates of the financial centers of power.
President Biden can, with a stroke of his pen, remove Cuba from the State Dept. State Sponsors of Terrorism list and he must do so. Anyone who knows anything about Cuba knows that Cuba does not belong on this list. This was part of Trump’s ignorant attempt to show that his hundreds of executive orders against Cuba were justified.
Cuba's placement on this list is an affront not only to the people of Cuba but to all who struggle for justice and peace. It is an attempt to legitimize the ongoing economic warfare perpetrated by the US government, that condemns children to hunger, the sick to suffering, and all Cubans to increased hardship.
