Monrovia, July 26, 2020 - President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez congratulated their respective Liberian counterparts on the occasion of the 173rd anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of this West African nation.
Díaz-Canel extended cordial congratulations to the President of Liberia, George Manneh Weah.
A similar message was sent by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs to Liberian Foreign Minister Gbehzohngar Milton Findley on the occasion of this nation's Independence Day.

Monrovia, July 18, 2020 - To honor this icon of the struggle against apartheid and his selfless contribution to humanity, the Cuban Embassy in Liberia enjoyed a screening of the documentary "Mandela and Fidel".
Mandela became the first democratically elected president of South Africa in 1994. He led the country in starting a multiracial establishment. He ended his work as president in 1999, after completing his term and refusing to serve a second term.
