Cuba and Liberia: New steps towards a higher stage in bilateral relations.

Monrovia, March 27, 2024 - This morning, the Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bakri Nyei, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, received the Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera at the headquarters of the Liberian Foreign Ministry.

In a fraternal atmosphere, both parties expressed the mutual willingness of their governments to contribute to the strengthening of bilateral ties and the rapprochement between two peoples with common ancestors.

On March 18, 2024, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Benjamin Ziff was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Deputy Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío, who formally conveyed to him the firm rejection of the interference and slanderous messages of the U.S. government and its embassy in Cuba regarding the internal affairs of the Cuban reality.

Cuban Head of Mission participates in central event for International Women's Day.

Monrovia, March 8, 2024- Responding to an invitation extended by the Liberian Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon Gbeme Horace-Kollie, Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera participated in the celebration of International Women's Day under the theme "Investing in Women, Accelerating Progress".

The event provided an opportunity to reflect on progress, advocate for change and recognize exceptional women who have made significant contributions to their communities and nations.
