Suva, September 16. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of congratulations to the Governor General of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, Sir Robert Dadae, as this September 16th commemorates the 45th anniversary of the independence of that country.
In the letter, the Cuban Head of State reiterated his country's will to continue expanding and strengthening bilateral relations.
Suva, September 10. The Cuban Ambassador to Fiji, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago held a fruitful working meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of the Marshall Islands, H.E. Albon Tregar Ishoda. In a cordial atmosphere, both discussed the progress of bilateral relations and on issues of regional and international interest.
Suva, August 27. Dr. Filimon Manoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) expressed his gratitude for the invariable willingness of Cuba to cooperate with the region, especially in the confrontation with COVID19, by receiving the Ambassador of Cuba in Fiji, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago, in the headquarters of that Organization. Both examined the existing potential to strengthen political dialogue and the multifaceted ties between both parties, considering that the Caribbean nation holds the status of Forum Dialogue Partner.
Suva, August 20th. The Third Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Fiji, Osmany Cantillo Trejo held a working meeting with Sumeet Tappoo, Director of the Sai Prema Fiji Foundation and President of its International Advisory Council, in order to exchange on the existing potentialities for the development of joint programs on health and biotechnology between institutions in Cuba and Fiji.
