Bridgetown, Dec 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Tuesday thanked the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) for its stance against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on his country for more than six decades.
The Faculty of Social Sciences of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) has joined forces with the Barbados/Cuba Friendship Association, the Assembly of Caribbean People, the Caribbean Chapter of the International Network in Defense of Humanity, the Caribbean Peace Movement, and the Embassy of Cuba in Barbados to stage a One-Day Colloquium at the Cave Hill campus on Wednesday 7th December 2022 on the theme of:
“Commemorating 50 years of the CARICOM/CUBA Relationship”.

The president arrived in Kingstown on Saturday and in the afternoon he talked with Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves about the Caribbean and Latin American position in view of Cuba’s exclusion from the last Summit of the Americas, in the United States, among other issues.

The documentary "Sovereignty" will be the film exhibition that Cuba will present at the Ibero-American Festival on December 15, 2022, which will take place at the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago. This initiative has been coordinated between that entity and the Ibero-American countries with diplomatic representation in this country.
