Abu Dhabi, June 18, 2023. A broad representation of Cubans residing in the United Arab Emirates and the staff of the Cuban Embassy in Abu Dhabi held a fraternal meeting at this diplomatic headquarters. In a relaxed atmosphere full of Cuban identity, our compatriots exchanged among themselves and with the Mission personnel. The occasion was also conducive to paying homage to the parents on their day.

Ambassador of Cuba holds meeting with Executive Director of COP 28

As part of the preparations for the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), scheduled this year in the United Arab Emirates, the Cuban ambassador in Abu Dhabi, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, held a fruitful meeting with Mr. Adnan Amin, Executive Director at the office of the Special Envoy for Climate Change in the United Arab Emirates and his negotiating team.

COP28 CITMA

Petersberg, May 4.- An exchange on issues of common interest was held this Thursday by Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) of Cuba, and Sultán al-Jaber, president of the XXVIII Summit of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28).

The meeting between the two dignitaries took place in Berlin, at the international meeting known as the Petersberg Dialogue, whose objective is to prepare the stage for COP 28, to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12.

Ambassador of Cuba met with Minister of Climate Change and Environment

The Ambassador of Cuba to the UAE, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Mariam Almheiri, at her offices in Dubai.

Both representatives addressed the programs implemented by their respective governments in order to protect the environment. In addition, they reiterated the interest of their countries in developing cooperation and exchanging experiences on adaptation to climate change, bilaterally as well as internationally.
