Cuba in the Roadmap of the United Arab Emirates, in the Year of Sustainability 2023.

Dubai, February 28, 2023. The diplomatic staff of the Cuban embassy in the United Arab Emirates participated this Monday in the workshop "Global Roadmap in the Year of Sustainability 2023", coordinated by the Diplomatic Engagement Office of the Expo City Dubai, host organization for the next United Nations Conference of the Parties for Climate Change COP 28 next November. The Cuban ambassador, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, conveyed to the organizers the will of the Caribbean Island to contribute to the common agenda, from the protempore presidency of Cuba in the Group of 77 + China.

Omara Durand crowned in Dubai, to the Cuba's pride

Dubai, February 27, 2023.- The multi-laureate Cuban athlete Omara Durand dominated the track, in the 200-meter test in the T12 category (deeply visually impaired), at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, venue of the World Grand Prix of Para-athletics, qualifying for the Paralympics in Paris 2024. The woman from Santiago, together with her guide Yuniol Kindelán, will also run the 400 meters, on Tuesday, February 28.

Cuban Ambassador meets with the Assistant Minister for International Development Affairs of the Emirati Foreign Ministry

Abu Dhabi, February 23, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba to the United Arab Emirates, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Sultan Muhammad Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister for International Development Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. At the meeting, both representatives discussed the common interests of their countries in terms of foreign policy for the year 2023, during which Cuba holds the presidency of the G77 Group + China and the UAE organizes the celebration of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 28), which will take place in November in Dubai.

Ambassador of Cuba conveyed the greetings of his people to the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Kahimah, February 18, 2023. His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, received the ambassadors of Latin America and the Caribbean accredited to the country. As part of the attendees, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, Ambassador of Cuba in the UAE, greeted the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, expressed the message of friendship on behalf of the Cuban people and government and reiterated the will to continue developing bilateral relations with Cuba in all fields.

Cuba attends the World Government Summit in Dubai

Monday, February 13. The 2023 edition of the World Government Summit, which meets from February 13 to 15 in Dubai, began this Monday at the Madinat Jumeirah Convention Center. Cuba is represented by Gerardo Montenegro Morán, Director of Training of Cadres and Management Studies of the Ministry of Higher Education and Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, Ambassador of Cuba in the United Arab Emirates.
